Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about how Contractor Bid Prep works.

What does Contractor Bid Prep actually do?

We monitor Florida government procurement channels for solicitations that match your trade and the counties you're licensed to work in, then text and email you when one drops. Every alert includes the opportunity name, agency, due date, estimated value, and a link to the portal. On the Gold plan we go further — you reply to the text with your bid number, and we generate the bid documents from our trade-specific templates and route them to you for e-signature.

How do I find government contracts to bid on in Florida?

Florida state agencies and universities are required to post solicitations to MyFloridaMarketPlace (the Vendor Bid System), so that layer is centralized and searchable. Local work is harder: Florida has no statewide clearinghouse for county, city, and school district solicitations — each agency procures independently through its own portal, and you'd have to register with and check each one. That fragmentation is the problem CBP exists to solve. We watch those channels for you and send only what matches your license and trade.

Do I need to be a licensed contractor to use CBP?

Yes. You need an active Florida DBPR contractor license, and your license class determines what we can send you. If you're Certified, you can bid statewide and we match you to opportunities anywhere in Florida. If you're Registered, you can only work in the counties named on your license, so we match you only to those counties. That isn't a limit CBP imposes — it's how Florida licensing works.

What's the difference between the Bronze, Silver, and Gold plans?

Bronze ($100/mo) is monitoring and alerts for your trade and home county. Silver ($350/mo) adds access to all statewide opportunities plus the CBP Subscriber Portal — bid templates, market intel, how-to guides, and business contacts. Gold ($850/mo) adds the automation: two-way SMS, auto-generated bid documents, e-signature routed through DocuSeal, and automatic logging of every bid. Bronze tells you about the work; Gold does the paperwork.

Where do the bid opportunities come from?

From the agencies' own official publication channels. Florida state agency and university solicitations come from MyFloridaMarketPlace / the Vendor Bid System. County, city, and school district opportunities come from each agency's own procurement portal and vendor notification lists. We use the primary sources rather than reselling a third-party aggregator feed.

How fast will I know about a new opportunity?

Our system scans procurement channels weekly, and alerts go out by SMS and email as matches are found. Public solicitations typically stay open for several weeks — Florida state agency postings are required to run at least 10 days — so a weekly scan leaves working time to prepare a response. Every alert includes the due date so you know exactly how long you have.

Can CBP fill out and submit the bid documents for me?

We fill them out. On the Gold plan you reply to the alert with your bid amount and any required details, and we generate the completed bid package from our trade-specific template library and send you a link to sign digitally. Submission stays with you — the finished package is ready to file with the agency, often the same day. You remain the bidder of record and the signature on the bid is always yours.

Does Contractor Bid Prep cover my county?

We provide statewide access to Florida state-agency opportunities, and we're actively expanding county-level coverage — new counties added regularly, starting from our Gulf Coast pilot region. If you want to know where your county stands today, email us and we'll tell you straight.

Does CBP work outside Florida?

Not right now. CBP matches Florida opportunities only, and we don't cover federal procurement through SAM.gov. Our sourcing and our eligibility rules are built around Florida DBPR licensing and Florida agency posting requirements, so expanding to another state means rebuilding both.

How much does Contractor Bid Prep cost?

Three plans, billed monthly or annually: Bronze is $100/month or $1,000/year, Silver is $350/month or $3,500/year, and Gold is $850/month or $8,000/year. Annual billing saves up to 22%. There are no setup fees. CBP subscriptions are generally a deductible business expense — talk to your accountant about how that applies to you.

Is there a contract, or can I cancel anytime?

Monthly plans are month-to-month with no long-term commitment — cancel anytime and you won't be billed for the following month. Annual plans are prepaid for the year at the discounted rate. Billing runs through Stripe. See the Subscriber Agreement for the full terms.
